It’s one thing to be a part of an active community when you are in college, but where does that really go when you venture into the real world? So many of us get caught up in our post graduate lives, but really where does that drive to create change go?
Props to the brothers and sisters who rally hard for our people through grassroots organizing. But what if that’s not my focus right now? What if I am just trying to figure out life; my place in the world. Everyone needs to. If I can’t run beside the organizers…I’m just gonna make sure I live my life the way that I preached it. To “always find time to get love and give it right back” [geologic].
No…I’m not in the KmB mix, or the Gab mix…FCC or SIPA (though I have mad respect for these orgs). But…what if I brought awareness to the greater community through asking for donations from my co-workers who are predominantly white? What if I went through the neighborhood [Indian, black, mexican, white] and asked for donations, just cuz…for a just cause [Hernandez, 2007]?
No…this is not the only disaster that occurred. Taiwan has also been hit by Typhoon Morakot, as well as parts of China and Vietnam with another storm to come. Which is also important to bring to light.
